Welcome to ASUP blog

Who'Sup Fest 2014
Since we started on 2012, Amateur Stand Up Paddle Boarding (Amateursup / ASUP) has matured from a friendly Facebook page to an official entity with thousands of followers from all over the globe. Our home base is a 100' x 35' SUP island in the Caribbean called Puerto Rico. Thankfully our reach has surpassed all our aspirations and more SUP are joining our concept of SUP hanging (we call friendly paddle).

We created this new blog to share our experiences, comments and opinions in a personalized way. We are real SUP Amateurs who practice the sport every week nonstop. As you know, the SUP is highly addictive and our normal conversations are around our passion, the SUP.

I started doing SUP just for the exercise and suddenly all the members of my family became SUP lovers. Some of our kids are now SUP racers at their age class. I never pressure them or ask them to join me, they just did it and fall in love like me.

I used to play some golf, now I do business in the ocean thanks to the SUP and my family can be together. Thankfully we have had the chance to meet hundreds of SUP lovers in events, meetings, conventions and in the water. We travel to many countries and meet SUP lovers with so many stories and like Mikey Muñoz, with a big smile. We do not talk anymore about the SUP as sport, for us it is a complete lifestyle for the whole family at all ages.

The energy of our followers gave us through their emails with questions, fuelled us to produce this blog. In the past we posted some articles on Facebook page (as Notes / facebook.com/amateursup).

Our readers are the reason to have ASUP alive and growing; and we want them to be part of the interaction of these stories. We love to share all our joy and we feel grateful for the support we got from so many people. I hope you like our stories. Please feel free to post your questions, suggestions, ideas and stories; we will be happy to share with our big community.
